Overview
The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Early Childhood Education is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of early childhood education. Entry Criteria
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have successfully completed their GCE Advanced Level (A/L) with a minimum of 2 passes, preferably in subjects like education, psychology, or social sciences.
- English Proficiency: A minimum of a C pass in English at GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) or an equivalent qualification is required. Alternatively, an IELTS score of 5.5 or above is acceptable.
- Foundation Program: Candidates without the required A/L passes but who have completed a recognized foundation program in early childhood education or a related field may be considered.
- Mature Student Entry: Applicants over the age of 21 with at least 2 years of relevant experience working in early childhood education, daycare, or teaching can apply through the mature student entry route.
- Personal Statement: Submission of a personal statement explaining the applicant’s passion for early childhood education, their career goals, and reasons for pursuing this HND program.
Duration
The HND in Early Childhood Education is designed to be completed over a minimum period of 6 months. However, students are encouraged to take the time needed to fully engage with the material and gain the necessary practical experience, typically spread over two years for a comprehensive understanding.
